Lerchnhof

Lerchnhof. Daniel Oberparleiter:

“Lerchnhof is located at an altitude of 1,077 metres above sea level. The climate in the Puster Valley is harsher than in many other parts of South Tyrol. This offers a unique advantage: the fruit ripens more slowly, allowing it to develop a richer flavour and more intense aromas. Our philosophy is ‘small but exceptional’. This approach enables us to maintain a high level of craftsmanship—from harvesting the fruit to packaging the finished products, everything is done here at Lerchnhof with the help of our dedicated team.”
In addition to holiday apartments, Lerchnhof also features a farm shop where visitors can purchase the farm’s own products and enjoy a delicious breakfast in a welcoming rural setting.
“Our farm grows fruit, vegetables and herbs. We also operate a mobile chicken coop, and our circular farming system works extremely well. Cherries that fall from the trees, for example, are immediately ‘recycled’ by the chickens. Several years ago, we converted the entire farm to organic production—a decision that has been beneficial both for us and for our animals.”
“Lerchnhof is essentially a 360-degree farming operation,” Daniel explains proudly. “We grow our own raw materials, process them on-site, and make use of everything that remains directly on the farm. Nothing goes to waste.”

The funded project

The Ethical Banking loan enabled us to purchase a mobile chicken coop.
"Our mobile chicken coops are relocated four to five times a year. As soon as the pasture has been grazed, we move the coop to a new area. Simply moving the coop regularly helps fertilise the soil naturally, while also preventing the level of ground contamination often associated with conventional large-scale poultry houses. This new mobile coop is like a six-star hotel for our hens, equipped with its own cooling and ventilation system for the summer and heating for the winter. We are convinced that only happy animals can produce high-quality products," concludes Daniel.

“Ethical Banking is about much more than obtaining attractive financing for our project. It means being part of a community of like-minded people who are committed to rethinking the way we do business and who share a vision of a more sustainable future for all.”
