Alpe Pragas. Stefan Gruber:
We produce fruit spreads, fruit syrups, chutneys and preserved fruits in the delicatessen sector. Our products are characterised by very high quality and are distributed exclusively through the delicatessen channel – 70% in Italy and 30% through exports.Alpe Pragas currently employs 10 permanent staff members, with an additional 12 seasonal employees during the summer months.
Fifteen years ago, we originally started as fruit growers and we still cultivate our own strawberries, raspberries and redcurrants today. The remaining fruits are sourced from selected suppliers.
Thanks to Ethical Banking financing, we were able to install a photovoltaic system, and we have been very satisfied with its performance so far. Previously, we faced the challenge of needing additional energy, especially during peak periods in summer when fruit processing and freezing require a lot of electricity. The new system has helped us successfully overcome this challenge.

“The Ethical Banking development loan enables my business to generate electricity for its own needs, reduce its environmental impact and apply the principle of closed cycles to the energy sector as well.”
