The 2024 Agitu Gudeta Award goes to Alexandra Zöggeler from Psegghof:

The third Agitu Ideo Gudeta Award was presented in Bozen ex aequo to Alexandra Zöggeler from Tschengls and Verena Kapaurer from St. Pankraz/Ultental. Alexandra Zöggeler lives with her family, 600 chickens, wool pigs, sheep and two dogs at Psegg Hof, located at 1,250 metres above sea level on the Nördersberg near Tschengls. Together with her husband Philipp, she manages the farm according to the principles of organic agriculture and species-appropriate animal husbandry. She also offers educational programmes at the farm and has provided accommodation for people in crisis situations. She is also a co-founder of the Waldorf School Vinschgau.
“Alongside their outstanding achievements as pioneers of multifunctional organic agriculture, Verena Kapaurer and Alexandra Zöggeler have a particularly strong impact on their communities,” stated the jury in its reasoning. In the jury’s view, both women are committed and powerful drivers of ecological and social change, making a special contribution to securing the future of their region.
