Schloss Prösels: Dr Eduard Egarter Vigl:

Over the centuries, the castle has experienced a rich and eventful history. Construction began in the 12th century, when its strategic location was chosen for the development of a defensive fortress. Over the following centuries, this landmark of Völs was repeatedly expanded and restored.
In 1983, a Board of Trustees was established to preserve the castle's historical heritage and promote cultural activities throughout the German-speaking region. Dr Eduard Egarter Vigl later developed the idea of transforming the castle into a centre for wine culture, complete with an exclusive wine shop (vinotheque).

Thanks to Ethical Banking, the construction of a ticket office, cafeteria, souvenir shop and wine gift shop was made possible.
