Social Cooperative Handicar

The Borrower tells:

The Handicar cooperative was founded in 1996 and offers the following services to its members:

• Vehicle service and repairs
• Driving school
• Agency for vehicle-related matters
• Car rental with vehicles adapted for people with disabilities
• Consultation and sales in the field of rehabilitation technology
• Orthopaedic services
• Advice, support and technical customer service in all of the above-mentioned areas

 
The cooperative’s facilities are made available by the Province through a loan agreement, and Handicar currently employs 12 people.

The latest project is the mobile workshop. This means that Handicar will no longer operate only in Bozen, but throughout South Tyrol. Every 14 days, customers in the different districts will be visited directly on site. Smaller repairs can be carried out immediately, while spare parts can also be ordered by phone and then delivered directly to the customer, eliminating the need to travel to Bozen.
