Why did you choose Ethical Banking?

Because I believe that it is important to act consciously when it comes to money as well. Regional economic cycles are very important to me, and Raiffeisenkasse stands for this principle more than any other bank. Ethical Banking adds another important aspect: the money is invested in projects that benefit the wider community, rather than just a single company or individual. The sole pursuit of profit maximisation in the economy often leads to the exploitation of nature, animals and people. To serve the common good, we need more ethical principles.

What do you hope for Ethical Banking in the future?

That Ethical Banking becomes a matter of course for everyone, just like social partnership in the 1970s or environmental protection in the 1990s. In South Tyrol, Ethical Banking should become and remain the hallmark of the Raiffeisenkassen.

How do you envision your bank in the future?

As a service provider that puts people’s need for secure savings and fair loans at the centre. Banks should not seek to increase their profits through speculation.

We should move away from the idea that money can multiply by itself.
