Winery Pfitscher - Montan:

Pfitscher Winery becomes the first winery in Italy to receive the KlimaHaus Wine quality seal.
In 2012, Pfitscher Winery in Montan became the first winery in Italy to be awarded the KlimaHaus Wine seal. Owner and cellar master Klaus Pfitscher proudly looks towards the future:
“The KlimaHaus Wine seal proves that we have chosen the right path from an ecological, socio-cultural as well as technical and economic perspective. It allows us to provide our customers with a transparent insight into the journey from grapevine to bottle. In this way, we guarantee a responsible approach throughout the entire value chain.”
To receive the KlimaHaus Wine label, wineries must meet a range of specific criteria.

The KlimaHaus Wine seal evaluates not only environmental sustainability and microclimatic conditions, but also the use of resources throughout the wine production process. The choice of packaging and the environmental impact of transportation are also taken into consideration.
Furthermore, health-related aspects – such as comfort in living and working spaces – as well as economic aspects, including transparency in management, play an important role in the certification process. The evaluation is based on three fundamental pillars of sustainability: nature, life and transparency.
Thanks to an Ethical Banking development loan of 35,000€ at favourable conditions, the Pfitscher family was able to install a photovoltaic system on the roof of the winery, making an important contribution to reducing their environmental impact.
