Why did you choose Ethical Banking?

I became aware of this opportunity through my advisor at Raiffeisenkasse Wipptal, and the idea of investing and saving in this way immediately made sense to me. I am convinced by the social principle behind Ethical Banking because I am aware that many people depend on affordable loans, not only for their professional life but often also for their everyday needs. This is why, alongside other investments, I chose this form of saving. I selected the Handicap area because I know how important assistive devices are for people with disabilities in managing everyday life, pursuing their profession and enjoying their leisure time. The purchase of a specialised wheelchair, the installation of a lift, the removal of architectural barriers or the provision of specialised computer software can improve participation in professional and social life and have a positive impact on quality of life.

What do you hope for Ethical Banking in the future?

I hope that this initiative by Raiffeisenkasse becomes even more widely known and that more and more savers, with both small and large amounts of money, will enable and support different projects within the areas of impact of Ethical Banking. In this way, saving and investing money becomes meaningful, not with the aim of maximising profits, but with a focus on people and the future. Personally, I will tell my family and friends about this special form of saving and try to encourage them to invest at least part of their savings in this project. With a larger community of savers, the selection of projects eligible for support could be expanded and new additional areas of focus could be included.

How do you envision your bank in the future?

I see raising customers’ awareness of alternative forms of investing as an important task and responsibility of banks. In this regard, Raiffeisenkasse is already a great step ahead of other banks. I also hope that my bank and its employees will continue to take time for personal conversations and my individual concerns in the future, and that they will continue to provide me with reliable advice, because online banking cannot truly replace personal consultation.
