Roland Furgler, Ethical Banking Film Team, tells:

For the past ten years, I have travelled across South Tyrol to document our financed projects and make them visible in a concrete and transparent way. Every summer, I put together a dedicated Ethical Banking film team for one month to produce short videos for our YouTube channel and photo reports for our website. This allows our savers – who choose exactly how their savings are used – to see where and how their money has been invested in projects that create real value for people and the environment.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this work is bringing savers and borrowers together. Time and again, these encounters lead to meaningful conversations, lasting customer relationships and sometimes even genuine friendships. In today's digital world, where many young people spend more time with smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles and social media than enjoying the beauty of nature, these personal encounters are especially valuable.
Over the years, I have experienced countless memorable moments. Everywhere I have gone, I have been welcomed with warmth and kindness. Friendships have grown, and it is incredibly rewarding to know that our work is appreciated—from the Upper Vinschgau Valley to the Hochpustertal, and from Sterzing to Salurn.
Of course, some people are a little startled at first when I arrive "armed" with a camera and microphone to ask questions about their projects. But after just a few minutes, the initial nervousness usually disappears. I have had the privilege of meeting inspiring people who make a real difference through their own initiative, developing innovative ideas and projects that have a positive impact on their communities.
Our short films on YouTube have become increasingly popular over the years. With more than 119,000 views, we are proud to see how many people are interested in these stories and the positive impact they showcase.
These days, borrowers often ask me when we are finally coming to film their project too! :-) This level of transparency is truly unique in banking and helps build trust.
And the nicest compliment I have ever received? Not long ago, I met a young organic farmer who had no idea who I was. He looked at me and said: "Oh, I know you! You're that crazy guy from the Ethical Banking videos who always jumps into a pond at the end... Wait—you work at a bank as well? I never would have guessed!"
