Unterschweighof

Unterschweighof. Alois Berger:

For more than 20 years, Alois and Anna Berger have been running the Unterschweighof together with their four sons at an altitude of 1,750 metres in St. Nikolaus/Ulten. All of the raw milk produced on the farm is processed on-site into cheese, butter, and yoghurt.
For several years now, the farm has also offered holiday apartments, built entirely from untreated solid wood sourced from the farm’s own forest.
An Ethical Banking subsidized loan made it possible to finance the construction of a new farm shop, the expansion of the farm dairy, and the purchase of a new alpine hut.
In recognition of their dedication, passion for mountain farming, and entrepreneurial spirit, the Berger family was awarded the Mountain Farmers’ Award in 2016.

“Thanks in part to Ethical Banking, we have been able to continue investing in our farm by building a free-stall barn, holiday apartments, and an alpine hut.”
