Ethical Banking. A piece of self-determined future – promoting the common good. Creating value.

Anfang April fand in der Eurac eine Tagung des Fördervereins Ethical Banking statt
Since the year 2000, Ethical Banking has been collecting savings deposits to finance various eco-social projects in South Tyrol. In its early years, savings bonds issued by Banca Etica were offered, but over time more and more customers wanted to decide themselves how their savings would be used. As a result, the seven current savings and financing lines were gradually developed. From the very beginning, Ethical Banking has focused on meaningful and impactful lending projects within the local community, supporting the real economy.
Promoting the common good. Creating value.
The conference was opened by Erich Innerbichler, President of the Ethical Banking association. Innerbichler himself was the driving force behind the idea of ethical finance at Raiffeisenkasse Bozen and is convinced that this responsible savings and financing model remains highly relevant today – in line with F. W. Raiffeisen’s famous principle:“The money of the village for the village.”
Throughout the morning, numerous speakers contributed interesting insights, including Paulina Schwarz, Deputy Chairwoman of the Raiffeisenverband, Thomas Egger from the Climate Club South Tyrol, Alexander Nitz from the citizens’ cooperative b*coop, Siegfried Rinner from the South Tyrolean Farmers’ Association, Alberto Lanzavecchia from the University of Padua, Leonhard Resch from Arche im KVW, Wolfgang Obwexer from Lebenshilfe, Hanspeter Staffler from the Umbrella Association for Nature and Environmental Protection, Monica Devilli from CoopBund South Tyrol, and many others.
Governor Arno Kompatscher also took the opportunity to briefly visit the conference and receive a copy of the children’s book “Ungurungu.”
